L'IMAGIER SINGULIER TOME 2
The adventure of the Imagier Singulier continues! Following on from the first volume published in 2020, the author unveils around a hundred new plates featuring raw and unique artists from around the world. His illustrations in black felt-tip pen and watercolor are an invitation to stop off in atypical and unmissable places (La Fabuloserie) as well as to wander, through the pages, in the worlds of Simone Le Carré-Galimard (represented on the cover ), Mahmoud Kahn, Shinichi Sawada, Bill Traylor, Armand Avril and Babahoum. Echoing the common thread of the first opus, the artists are represented in their simplest attire and surrounded by their works and creative tools. Through this fun and offbeat approach, François Jauvion intends to whet the curiosity of young and old alike, initiates and laypeople alike. Around twenty authors (historians, collectors, gallery owners, etc.) collaborate on this work by recounting the special bond that unites them with their favorite artist: Marie Giraud speaks of Anna Zemankova, Philippe Lespinasse of Richard Greaves. Their stories also help to highlight these creators who are often unknown to the general public. This second volume of the pantheon of art brut is prefaced by Michel Thévoz. The introduction is by Christian Berst. |
